so enterprise finished (for good) on friday night. and not with a bang, but a motherfucking next generation episode. whiskey tango foxtrot?! even worse was that they used riker and troi! are there any two lamer characters from that show? damn. lovely t'pol was right. appalling.

i should have quit after the mirror, mirror episodes. they were mighty! instead i stuck around for a pedantic lesson on ethnocentrism and a freakin' riker-fest. sssssss.

erm... sorry. it could have been wesley crusher. that'd be much worse.

meanwhile, back at the ranch, i've been watching the first (and only) season of firefly, joss whedon's space-western, which, by the way, i honestly bought and paid for. i just can't steal from the man who brought us buffy. good stuff, once you get past the fact that it really, truly is a western, not in the star wars sense, but with horses and stage coaches and six-shooters and cowboy hats and lots of "ain't" and "ma'am", but *in space*. i'm two-thirds of the way through, and already getting the separation anxiety. i like this show. i think the best part: no aliens. everybody's human, so no bogus universal translators or lame rubber masks or 'why do all these aliens look so much like earthlings?' and the like.

lucky for me and my monkey, the new battlestar galactica just finished coming down the pipe yesterday, so i've got my next fix lined up once i'm through with mal and crew...
